To find a Professional Rehabilitative Massage Therapist, look for one who is:
Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCTMB)
Licensed (LMT) or Credentialed (if your State/Area requires licensing or credentialing) and
has some, or all, of the following training:
- Orthopedic Massage Training
- A Rehabilitation Background
- Myofascial Therapy/Release
- Structural Bodywork Education
- Medical Massage Training
- Neuromuscular Therapy Training (NMT)
- Is a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), or similar.
The therapist should take a health history, and if appropriate contact your Doctor regarding administering Massage Therapy.
